The Comox Valley Glacier Kings are proud to welcome Matthias Smith as the organization’s new Goaltending Coach.
Matthias’s journey with the Glacier Kings began at just 17 years old, when he first suited up for the organization. From there, his playing career took him to the MJHL and then the BCHL, where he played for the Powell River Kings, before moving on to a four-year NCAA career at the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point. Following his time at UWSP, Matthias continued his career at the professional level.
Now, his hockey journey brings him back home to the Comox Valley and back to the Glacier Kings — this time behind the bench. Matthias will work closely with our goaltenders, helping them develop their game, build confidence, and grow both on and off the ice.
We’re excited to have him back where it all began.
Welcome home, Matthias! 👑🥅
