The Vernon Vipers of the British Columbia Hockey League have called up Glacier Kings goaltender Lane Maarhuis, marking an exciting milestone in the young netminder’s development.
Maarhuis drew significant attention at the recent VIJHL All-Star Game, where his strong performance caught the eye of Vipers coaching and scouting staff. Following the event, the Vipers reached out to Curtis Toneff, Head Coach and General Manager of the Glacier Kings, who fully supported the opportunity.
For the foreseeable future, Maarhuis will remain with the BCHL club as the Vernon Vipers head to Alberta for a three-game road trip, gaining valuable experience at the Junior A level.
With Maarhuis called up and goaltender Anthony Ganoung sidelined due to injury, the Glacier Kings have signed Victoria goaltender Ander Reyes to bolster their crease. Reyes previously appeared in 17 games with the Westshore Wolves, recording an impressive .911 save percentage.
The Glacier Kings organization congratulates Lane Maarhuis on this well-earned opportunity and wishes him continued success as he takes the next step in his hockey journey.
